As much as we here at Sci-Fi Movie Page love William Gibson's books, we just remind ourselves that the last the last Gibson book to have been filmed starring a wooden leading man was the dismal Johnny Mnemonic and we then get cold shudders all over. Plus this $70 million independently produced movie is to be directed by the guy who did Torque and we're running away in abject fear . . .

Besides, the sad truth is that though Gibson's breakthrough 1985 novel actually predates the Internet, the whole cyberspace / hacker thing has been done to death in several rotten 1990s movies such as Lawnmower Man 2 and Hackers...
